ÖRYON’S HOME

Öryon’s home stands on the mountainside in the Elenimë village. In the sitting room, a dark wooden table brings the family together for meals and conversations. The pantry holds fruit, grain and herbs; the smell of cooking and warmth of the hearth belong to the life he knows before he travels.

Outside, his father waits for him in a small field where they train. Village life, friendships and his family’s expectations shape the opening chapters.

SYNOPSIS

THE MOON CHILD

On a night of the full moon, a child is born in a village hidden in the forest. Among the Elenimë, devotees of the Qiellör of the Moon, Öryon grows up unlike those around him, surrounded by secrets he does not yet understand.

He dreams of seeing Tëimur and discovering what lies beyond his village. Yet others have already decided his future. As the paths of the world open before him, Öryon must discover who he wants to be and how far he is willing to go to choose his own destiny.

The first volume in the Memories of Tëimur trilogy, The Moon Child introduces a universe with a language of its own, Allusaër, and a power known as Onulë, the Essence, whose mastery makes extraordinary feats possible. The novel combines the atmosphere of classic fantasy with influences from RPGs, anime and manga in a journey of discovery that tests Öryon’s bonds with his people.

FROM THE PROLOGUE

AT THE DAWN OF TIME

The Village lay at the northeastern edge of Einmaröt, a vast and ancient forest. Some of its trees were so broad that people could live inside them; others rose so high that no one had ever seen where they ended. The elders said that, at the dawn of time, the Qiellör of the Hunt herself had lived there, tending the creatures and plants, and that her power had seeped into the earth. That was why the trees of Einmaröt grew beyond what any tree should.

“Tër Qmedur, ma’am, do you have any…” The soldier standing before her could not finish his sentence. He struggled for a breath that would not come.

“Breathe, femihai. I can’t understand you like this.”

“Forgive me.” He rested his hands on his knees, took two breaths and straightened up. “I was sent to ask how she is.”

“She is strong. She is fighting the hardest battle of her life.”

The young man went pale and lowered his eyes to his boots, lingering there before gathering the courage to return with that answer.

“Tell him it should all be settled in a few hours. She is well. She is stable. That is all I can say for now. Cienna.”

“Cienna Omë.”
